WebPenitential Rite We are human and we sin. To put ourselves in the proper condition for the celebration of the Mass it is desirable to confess our sins and pray for forgiveness. The following exchange between the celebrant and the parish is the essence of this rite. The parish congregation recites or answers with proclamations in bold print. Webyou have lit the day with the sun's light. and the midnight with shining stars. Lighten our hearts with the bright beams. of the Sun of Righteousness. risen with healing in his wings, Jesus Christ our Lord.
